Mr. Umair Qureshi, Manager Monitoring - Technical (Ignite) attended the One Day Summit on "Electronic Money - Disrupting the Payment Landscape in Pakistan & Path to Digital Banking” on August 24, 2019 at PC Hotel Karachi. The seminar aimed to apprise the audience of the regulatory perspectives, best practices, trends and success stories of payment digitization, eco-system development, implications on commercial banking, seamless CX, risk management considerations, through a fusion of global and regional insights.
Mr. Qureshi also participated in the panel discussion on ‘Evolving financial requisites of freelancer businesses’ in which the key payment challenges faced by Pakistani freelancers and early-stage startups were highlighted. He apprised the audience about the success of DigiSkills.pk in terms of increasing the number of freelancers in the country and also increasing the revenue earned by freelancers. He referred the recently published Payoneer report on Gig-Economy Index which shows the growth of 42% in total freelancers in Pakistan & surge of 47% in revenue since Q3-2018.
